- Jewellery recovered, rightful owners sought: Northumberland
A collection of suspected stolen jewellery has been recovered from a house in Throckley.
It follows the arrest of two men yesterday on suspicion of burglary from addresses in Newcastle by officers from Northumberland Area Command.
The men, aged 36 and 39, remain in custody where they are being questioned.
The arrests form part of an ongoing operation in Northumberland to drive down crime and the men have been arrested in connection with burglaries in the county, including five recent burglaries in the Darras Hall area.

The ring was found in the Notcutts area of Woodbridge on Wednesday 8 October, but to date, no one has come forward to claim it.

- Jewellery theft: Great Ancoats Street, Manchester
Police have issued photographs of people wanted in connection with the theft of expensive jewellery stolen from a city centre flat.
Officers have also issued photographs of some of the items stolen.
Between 10.30am and 5.20pm on Friday 7 November 2008, offenders entered an apartment block on Great Ancoats Street and forced open the front door of a flat on the seventh floor, causing extensive damage to the wooden frame.
- Reward for stolen jewellery and antiques: Blendworth, Horndean
The victim of a high value burglary at Horndean is offering a substantial reward for the safe return of the stolen furniture and jewellery.
Detectives at Waterlooville are appealing for sightings of property which was stolen between 7.30 and 11pm on Saturday, November 8, when the thief or thieves forced entry to the house.
Many valuable antiques and jewellery were taken from the house in the Blendworth area of Horndean when it was empty for a few hours.
Police want to hear from anyone who has seen or been offered the items.
- Valuable ring stolen in violent burglary: Howe Street, Gateshead
Police in Gateshead have released a photograph of a ring similar to one stolen in an aggravated burglary in Howe Street, Gateshead, on Wednesday, October 29.
The ring, in the shape of a 'Western style' saddle, was stolen in the burglary which came in to police at just after 9.35am, although the incident happened earlier than this.
A 67-year-old man received an injury to his face and hand though these were not life threatening.
- Is this jewellery yours: Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers (area)
The jewellery was found whilst officers searched a man in custody on criminal damage charges.
It is suspected that the items were stolen either in burglaries, or in thefts from stores or individuals, in the Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers area.
The items of jewellery are as follows:
- Jewellery taken from Properties in Bath
Police are appealing for the public's help locating two pieces of jewellery, which were taken from properties in Bath.
They have issued photos of a ring and a brooch taken during the past two months (pictured).
The ring was taken from Belgrave Road in August and the brooch was taken from Gladstone Road in September.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the pieces of jewellery, particular dealers.
- Costume jewellery stolen: Gorey Castle, Jersey
Between the dates of Tuesday the 12th of August and Wednesday 13th August, some items of costume jewellery were taken from a staff room in Gorey Castle.
The costume jewellery, is used by re-enactors at the Castle.
Approximately 12 pieces of jewellery were taken from a jewellery box between the above dates. However, some of these items have now been found in the Castle grounds but the following items are still outstanding:
- 3 Gold Rings Found: Sunnydale Rd, Hinckley
Police are trying to trace the owners of some jewellery which was handed in at Hinckley police station.
Three gold rings with a distinctive inscription were handed into officers at the station after they were found on Sunnydale Road, Hinckley on Wednesday 15 October.
LSTO Paul Rumbelow, of Hinckley local policing unit's front enquiry office, said: "The rings have a distinctive inscription on them. We are very keen to trace the rightful owners of this jewelry.
- Police seek to identify owners of recovered jewellery: Ilfracombe
Detectives in Ilfracombe are asking victims of crime in the area to visit a web page in an effort to reunite them with their stolen jewellery.
The property was recovered as a result of a recent police operation in the town and it is thought to have been stolen during burglaries somewhere in the force area prior to the middle of June 2008.
Anyone who recognises any of the items photographed is asked to call Devon and Cornwall Police on 08452 777444 quoting log number 530 221008.
- Police seek owners of recovered jewellery: Ilfracombe, Devon
Detectives in Ilfracombe are asking victims of crime in the area to visit a web page in an effort to reunite them with their stolen jewellery.
The property was recovered as a result of a recent police operation in the town and it is thought to have been stolen during burglaries somewhere in the force area prior to the middle of June 2008.

- Man appeals for safe return of late wife's ring: Maidenhead
A man whose late wife's engagement ring was stolen in a burglary last month is appealing for its safe return.
The twin diamond gold twist ring, with a hallmark of ‘Boodles', was amongst a number of items of jewellery stolen during the burglary in Cherry Garden Lane, Maidenhead, on Thursday 25 September. It is thought the burglary took place sometime between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Two other diamond rings, an anniversary ring and an eternity ring, were also stolen.

Brent Police have recovered a number of pieces of jewellery and are appealing for members of the public to come forward if it belongs to them.
Police believe the jewellery may have been stolen and would like to trace the original owners.

Essex Police is asking for the public's help in returning items of jewellery to their owners.
During a chase with a man on Monday, September 8, 2008, a bag containing various items of jewellery was dropped. Police at this time do not know who they rightfully belong to.
Due to the style and age of the jewellery, police believe the rightful owner may be an older lady.
