- Acoustic guitar taken in burglary: Bouverie Walk, Northampton
A man broke into a flat in Bouverie Walk, Northampton, and stole an acoustic guitar on Saturday afternoon.
Sometime between 1.40pm and 2.10pm the man entered the ptoperty and took the blue guitar before leaving on foot and heading in the direction of the Jekyll and Hyde public house on the Wellingborough Road. The guitar was not in a case.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information regarding it.
- Theft of guitar from Loft Bistro: Kinloss, Forres
Grampian Police are investigating a theft in the Kinloss area of Moray.
The incident occurred between 11.30PM Saturday 8 November 2008 and 7.30 PM hours on Tuesday 11 November 2008, at The Loft, East Grange of Kinloss
As a result of the incident, an Epiphone electric guitar valued at a middle three figure sum was stolen.
Investigating Officer, PC Barry Corbett said,
- Six guitars stolen: Droitwich area
Police are warning guitar fans to be wary of offers of instruments after six were taken from an address in the Droitwich area.
A police spokesman said:
"It is difficult to predict just when and where these items will reappear again.
"If anyone is offered a guitar from an unfamiliar source, they should be extremely wary and - ideally - call the police as soon as possible."

- Musical equipment stolen in Church raid: Manchester
Thousands of pounds worth of musical and electrical equipment have been stolen from a church.
Police in Manchester city centre are appealing for witnesses following the burglary, which took place overnight on Thursday 23 October 2008 at the Methodist Central Hall in Oldham Street.
- Stolen Brannen-Cooper flute
A Brannen-Cooper Flute was stolen on 10th June 2008 from Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
It is a solid silver open holed flute with a C# trill key and only a C foot joint. Serial no: 4446
- R.E.M. 'signature' guitar Stolen: Helsinki
R.E.M. Signature Guitar Stolen Finnair Stadium in Helsinki, Finland, reward offered
R.E.M. has been hit by the stolen equipment epidemic, as Peter Buck's signature guitar was taken from the stage following a gig in Helsinki, Finland.
The band is asking for information about the whereabouts and offering a reward for the black Rickenbacker 360 guitar, which Buck has used periodically since the band's debut Chronic Town EP.

- Large and of a deep golden colour
- One piece back with a a sound post crack repaired many years ago this is visible of some 8-10"
- Unique - a resonating bar runs from the ebony button in the base of the cello (marked Sprengel of Stuggart) which has meant the addition of an extra hole for the end pin which is a brass & rosewood W. E. Hill model.

- Joseph Gagliano violin: London
Joseph Gagliano crafted in 1769 Violin last seen May 11 1991
- Bears original label 'Joseph Gagliano Filius Nicolai fecit Neap. 1769' or similar.
- Two piece back marked by a medium width figure ascending slightly from the joint.
- Varnish - golden brown colour
- On the back of the violin there is a badly repaired small crack running from the joint up to the shoulder - small but obvious.
- Length of body - 14"

Violin by Giulio Degani crafted in 1934, last seen in Greenwich on December 21 1993
- Labelled: Giulio Degani Venezia 1934 and inscription dated Atlantic City 1934.
- Back: Two pieces of quarter cut maple showing broad flames descending from centre joint.
- Sides & scroll: similar maple to back.
- Top: 2 pieces of spruce of narrow to broad grain.
- Varnish: brownish red. Length of back 35.8cm.

- Altus PSD Flute: London
Altus PSD Flute with solid Arista head joint; serial number 6676. Last seen Oct 30 2007 12:00am, London.
- Violin by Joseph Hel, 1886: London NW1
Violin by Joseph Hel, 1886; last seen at the Ibis Hotel, London NW1 on Feb 23 2000.
The front of the violin is of medium grain broadening in the bouts, the two-piece back of medium curl, the ribs and head similar. The varnish is of a red/orange colour over a golden ground. Length of back 14 & 1/8"". Middle of lower right front varnish thin/lost where cracks in the wood were repaired in the mid 1950's - unmistakeable."

- Viola by Marinus Cappicchioni stolen: London SW11
The viola is by MARINUS CAPPICCHIONI with original label dated Rimini 1966 and was stolen on March 2nd 2000
The colour is deep yellowy-orange with the back darker than the front.
There is a wood defect on button, several knocks on the back line, shoulder rest markings, fingernail damage, faint scratch pattern, inner bout worn, corner worn front right hand side.
The bridge stamped 'COLIN NICHOLLS'. It has an unusual chin rest.
- Soulsby bassoon lost on train: Cardiff to Swansea
A rare handmade bassoon by Jeremy Soulsby of Hereford was left on a train between Cardiff and Swansea on October 17th 2007
Bassoon has a missing B flat "trill" key and some scratches on the bell.
Serial no 65 is hidden under the cap at the end of the instrument.
The instrument was in a Wiseman bassoon gig bag of black leather. The bag has a bright yellow sticker from the Musicians Union. One of the four plastic feet on the case has broken off.
