    Thieves steal performance bikes worth £10,000: Colton, (near) Lichfield

    Cycling enthusiasts are being urged to help police track down expensive performance bikes stolen from a house near Lichfield.

    Officers think bike shop owners or keen riders might be approached and asked to buy the custom built machines worth around £10,000.

    Five cycles were stolen by thieves who broke into the garage of a house at Colton, near Lichfield.

    The theft was discovered on Thursday morning (20 November 2008), when the owner checked his premises.

    Rare bikes stolen in garage burglary: Wigmore

    Police in North Herefordshire are appealing for information following the burglary of a garage in the village of Wigmore in which two rare bikes were stolen.

    The offence occurred between 4pm on Wednesday 26th and noon on Sunday 30th November 2008. During this period, thieves have forced entry to a locked garage beside a residence in Ford Street, Wigmore.

    The bikes stolen were:

    an Orbea Satellite mountain bike, colour khaki green and black (of which this is the only one to have been sold in the UK)

  • Youths assault man and steal bike: Gorbals, Glasgow

    Strathclyde Police is appealing for witnesses after a 32-year-old man was the subject of a robbery in Gorbals, Glasgow on Saturday 15 November 2008.

    Around 2110 hours on Saturday, the 32-year-old man was cycling from Norfolk Court across the site of Stirlingfaulds flats, Gorbals, when he was verbally abused by approximately 12 youths who thereafter threw a hammer at the man, stole his bicycle and assaulted him about the head and body.

  • Paper boy has bike stolen: Whaddon Way, Milton Keynes

    The 13-year-old victim rode his bike to Martin's Newsagents, Whaddon Way, around 6.50am to start his newspaper delivery round.

    He went into the shop to collect the newspapers and when he came out of the shop his bike had been taken.

    The bicycle is a DK, BMX style with a pale blue frame, black handle bars, white saddle, white brake cable, a chrome back wheel and the front wheel is black.

  • BMX bike stolen: Francis Place, Elgin

    The incident occurred between 2000 hours and 2030 hours on Thursday 20th November 2008, outside Elgin Youth Cafe, Francis Place, Elgin.

    As result of the incident, a bronze coloured "Harrow" model BMX bike valued at a three figure sum was stolen.

    Grampian Police are keen to trace three males seen in the vicinity at the time.

  • Three bikes stolen from shed: Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds

    Ashwell Road, Bury St Edmunds between 9pm 19/11/08 and 2.30pm 20/11/08 A blue Mongoose BMX bike, a blue and silver mountain bike and a black and silver mountain bike have been stolen from a back garden where they had been left secure to a shed.

  • Theft of pedal cycle: Wherstead

    A14 Wherstead between 11.30am and 11.45am 21/11/08. A mans silver Ecobike Tornado has fallen off the back of a car westbound on the Orwell bridge. The driver stopped at the end of the bridge and went back to retrieve the bike but it had been stolen.

    Teenager robbed of bike: St Margarets Pastures, Leicester

    The incident happened at around 2.50pm on Saturday November 15, 2008 as the 17-year-old victim was sitting on the bench with a girl near to St Margarets Pastures canal towpath and a youth sat next to them, who had come from the direction of Abbey Park Road.

    The victim and the girl got up and started to travel towards the bridge on Friday Street.

    After a few minutes, the youth approached the victim and demanded he give him his bike. He attempted to hit the victim causing him to fall from the bike.

    Peugeot mountain bike stolen: Hotoft Road, Humberstone, Leics

    The incident happened between 6pm on Tuesday, October 21 and 10.30pm on Saturday, October 25 when a Peugeot mountain bike was stolen from a stairwell from inside a block of flats in Hotoft Road.

    PCSO Nik Tailor, who is investigating the incident said:

    "As you can see from the pictures this is a fairly distinctive bike.

    "We would like to speak to anyone who has seen a bike like this recently.

  • 15 year old boy mugged for bike: near Boughton House, Kettering

    Police officers are appealing for information about a street robbery which happened between Kettering and Geddington.

    The incident happened at about 7.25pm on Friday 14 November when a 15-year-old boy was cycling from Geddington to Kettering with a friend.

    When he reached the point where the cycle path leaves the roadside, near Boughton House, the victim was surrounded by seven or eight youths who pushed him off his bike.

  • Boy, 13, has bike taken from him: Gold Street, Wellingborough

    We are appealing for information about a robbery which occurred between 6.30pm and 7pm on Friday 7 November in Gold Street, Wellingborough.

    Between these times, a 13-year-old boy was riding his bike with a friend when he was stopped by a black man who was riding a purple girls bicycle.

    The man told the boy to stop, stated that he was a thief and that the bike he was riding belonged to him. He shook his fist at the victim who, believing he was going to be hit, gave the bike over.

  • Mountain bikes stolen from grieving family: Llandudno

    Two mountain bikes belonging to the Statham family, who were tragically killed on the M6 in Cheshire in October, have been stolen from the family home in Llandudno.

    During the early hours of this morning, (Friday 7th November), the two mountain bikes, which belonged to 13-year-old Reece and nine-year-old Jay, were stolen from the back garden at the address on Clifton Road.

    Both bikes were Apollo Creed mountain bikes but, as yet, police have no detailed description.

    East Street, Sudbury between 2pm 09/11/08 and 7.50am 10/11/08. Offenders have broken into a shed by removing the padlock and stolen a girls yellow red and silver Magna bike.     Two pedal cycles recovered: Barrow

    Police in Barrow are asking anyone who recognises two pedal cycles recovered recently to get in touch. They believe the gents bikes were either lost or stolen.

    The first is a Genesis Reflex P03-19 with a sliver frame.

    The second is of an unknown make but may have originally had a black or silver frame and is fitted with Mojo suspension forks. It also features the remains of an 'O'Neil' sticker near the pedal crank.

    Ten cycles stolen from outdoor pursuit centre: Viney Hill, Lydney

    Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of ten bicycles from an outdoor pursuit centre in Viney Hill.

    The incident occurred at the Christian Adventure Centre between 7.15pm on Wednesday November 12 and 8am on Thursday November 13.

    Offenders forced entry to a locked shed and stole bicycles with a total value of £3,500.

    Nine of the bikes are Trek 3900s and are blue and silver in colour. They vary in size from a small child's bike to a 19-inch frame.
