Priceless watch (a gift from Enzo Ferrari) stolen: Hamerton

Police are investigating the disappearance of a watch given to a Formula One driver by Enzo Ferrari.

It belonged to Innes Ireland, who was a Formula One driver between 1957 and 1967.

Enzo presented him with the custom-made Ferrari watch produced by Longines.

Innes sadly passed away in 1993 and the watch was left to his wife, Jean.

In July, Jean moved to Hamerton in Cambridgeshire and recently discovered the watch and its box is missing.

PC Richard Pocock, who is investigating said:

"There is a chance the watch has been lost, but we believe it's more likely that it has been stolen.

"Not knowing when it was taken makes it hard from an investigative point of view, but more importantly for Mrs Ireland, this watch is of enormous sentimental value and she would like it back.

"It was custom-made for Enzo Ferrari and although there are similar watches around now, they are not exactly the same."
