Police in North Herefordshire are appealing for information following the burglary of a garage in the village of Wigmore in which two rare bikes were stolen.
The offence occurred between 4pm on Wednesday 26th and noon on Sunday 30th November 2008. During this period, thieves have forced entry to a locked garage beside a residence in Ford Street, Wigmore.
The bikes stolen were:
an Orbea Satellite mountain bike, colour khaki green and black (of which this is the only one to have been sold in the UK)
a Cyclo custom-made Crosslight bike which has knobbly tyres and red rims and, again, is one of a kind. The branding on the stem/handlebars is "FSA" and the gears are Campagnolo
Both bikes are worth around £1400.
The thieves rode the bikes across the householder's back garden to open fields at the rear but their escape route from there is unknown.
Police are keen to speak with anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the Wigmore area last week or who may know the current whereabouts of these rare and distinctive machines. Anyone with information should contact PC Andy Varden at Leominster Police Station on 0300 333 3000 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
