Rare fairground pieces worth around £8,800 have been stolen from a lorry in Pershore.
The carousel horses and cockerels were taken from the vehicle parked on land at the back of a property at Holloway between 09:00 on Sunday, October 19 and 17:00 on Wednesday, October 22.
Two wooden horses made of solid wood and worth £2,000 each were taken. The German built horses, made by Haines were 6ft long and 5ft high.
Two wooden cockerels worth £2,000 each were also stolen. They were English built by Savage and are 5ft high and 3ft wide.
Four 12ft poles covered with brass and painted in silver and red were stolen and are worth £200 each.
PC Linda Hawkins, investigating, said:
"The horses and cockerels date back to the 1800s and are reasonably rare nowadays as modern day equivalents are mostly made of fibre glass. They are made of solid wood and are hand-carved.
"The theft has left the owners quite distraught and police are appealing to anyone who has any information on the incident. They could have seen something suspicious in the area between the times given or come across these very distinctive items in some way."
Anyone who knows anything about the incident or the whereabouts of any of the fairground items is urged to call PC Hawkins on 08457 444 888, quoting 395-s-251008, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
