The victim of a high value burglary at Horndean is offering a substantial reward for the safe return of the stolen furniture and jewellery.
Detectives at Waterlooville are appealing for sightings of property which was stolen between 7.30 and 11pm on Saturday, November 8, when the thief or thieves forced entry to the house.
Many valuable antiques and jewellery were taken from the house in the Blendworth area of Horndean when it was empty for a few hours.
Police want to hear from anyone who has seen or been offered the items.
Stolen antiques include:
- a two-foot bronze cherub with gold gilt wings (pictured)
- a 19th century Bonheur de Jour Victorian ladies' desk
- a large French clock with side figurines and a long pendulum
- two crystal candlesticks
- two heavy gothic-style metal candlesticks
A large amount of valuable jewellery also was stolen, including rings, bracelets, earrings, necklaces and brooches.
Detectives also want to hear from anyone who saw an unfamiliar van in the Blendworth area at the time of the burglary.
Detective Constable Mark McGreevy, of the Waterlooville Priority Crime Team said:
"As well as loss of items of great sentimental value, the theft has caused great distress to the victim,"
"We are willing to speak to anyone, even anonymously, in order to recover the stolen property."
