A member of the public has come forward offering a reward for information to find the offender who shot a cat in Beanhill, Milton Keynes last week.
The member of the public is offering a £500 reward to anyone who comes forward with any information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the offender.
Margaret Roberts from Chervil, Beanhill, reported the incident to the police on Tuesday 21 October after vet's confirmed that Lukie had been shot with what appears to be an air weapon at close range.
Margaret told the police that she last saw Lukie fit and well on Sunday 12 October and then he disappeared. He was found on Wednesday 15 October and seemed to be unwell.
Sgt Jason Kemp, investigating the incident, said: "This callous act is not only criminal but it is extremely dangerous. This could easily have hit a child or someone else causing serious injury.
"A member of the public, who was understandably appalled by the injuries caused to Lukie, has kindly put up a £500 reward for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this sickening incident."
