Search for missing possessions, people, or pets and local police information
Searching appeals is to do with both recovery and prevention.
In this category you'll find appeals, both civilian and police, seeking information which may lead to a recovery of possessions, people or pets and the apprehension of offenders. To-date there is over £10 million of rewards registered on the Missing List website; from £10 for a missing tortoise to £100,000 for a murder investigation.
Found items, contributed by both the police and members of the general public, also fall into this category.
Forewarned is forearmed and it pays to be aware of potential threats to you and yours. Simply enter your postcode and choose a search radius to access police and civilian appeals in your neighbourhood. For instance there might be a highly plausible distraction burglar operating in your area. If the police have issued a photo-fit the chances are you'll see it here.
You can also view appeals by Map or Satellite for a more immediate view of what is going on near you.
How to search appeals
Appeals can be viewed in two ways; List View and Map View.
In list view appeals are presented in date order (most recent, first) and users can either Select All or view by Subject. Just choose from the drop-down menu on the left hand margin of the page. To use Map View select Appeals Map (in red) at the top of both the Civilian and Police sections.
There is also a General Search facility in the top navigation bar of the website.
