  • Man, 50s, victim of serious assault: Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent

    Detectives in Stoke-on-Trent are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted.

    The incident happened in Hartshill Road, Hartshill, at around 2.20pm on Thursday 8 January.

    Officers attended the scene following reports that a man, believed to be in his 50s, had been assaulted.

    The man was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with severe head and facial injuries. His condition is described as stable.

  • Man Attacked By Dog: Great Western Way, Hereford

    A young man walking along the Great Western Way in Hereford required hospital treatment after he was attacked by a dog roaming loose.

    The incident happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday 27th December 2008 as the 21-year old was walking along the "green bridge" section of the Great Western Way footpath. He was approached by a dark-coloured Staffordshire-sized dog, which jumped up at him and bit him under his left eye.

  • Taxi driver stabbed: Clayton

    At 10.10pm on Monday 5 January 2009, police were called to Barrington Street, Clayton following reports a man had been stabbed.

    Officers attended and discovered a 61-year-old man had been stabbed in his side.

    One of the offenders ran up Barrington Street in the direction of Vale Street and another offender ran in the direction of Whiteley Street.

    Both are described as white men.

    The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are described as serious but not life threatening.

  • Street assault: Northolme Road, Hereford

    Police in Hereford are appealing for witnesses to an assault which occurred in Northolme Road, Hereford, : Northolme Road, Hereford, , just across from the rear of Tesco's petrol station.

    The assault occurred around 1pm on Saturday 3rd January 2009 when two males became involved in an altercation.

    The offending male then grabbed the victim around the neck and punched him several times in the face.

  • Man seriously assaulted at the BIC: Exeter Road, Bournemouth

    Detectives in Bournemouth are appealing for witnesses and information after a man suffered a broken jaw in the Bournemouth International Centre.

    A 32-year-old Poole man was struck during a gig in the BIC on Exeter Road, between 10.10pm and 10.30pm on Sunday, 14 December 2008.

    The man, along with more than 6000 other people, was attending a gig by the Kings of Leon rock band.

  • Man violently assaulted by gang of four: Strand Street, Poole

    The incident, in which a 20-year-old man was repeatedly punched and kicked by four men, happened between 3am and 3.15am on Saturday, 27 December 2008.

    The victim left the Mint nightclub at around 3am and was walking along Strand Street, near the Slug and Lettuce pub, when four men attacked him.

    He was punched and kicked to the floor and then kicked again while he lay on the ground. He was also struck with what police believe may have been a glass bottle.

  • Serious assault outside public house: Egremont

    At around 10pm on Thursday 01 January a twenty-seven year old male was assaulted outside the Wheatsheaf Public House, Egremont leaving him with substantial facial injuries, for which he received hospital treatment.

  • Bottle thrown in nightclub assault: Cornwallis Street, Barrow

    An 19 year old male from the Barrow area was assaulted during the early hours of Christmas day, 25 December 2008, around 1.00am in Circus Circus nightclub on Cornwallis Street, Barrow.

    The suspect has thrown a bottle at the victim causing a gash to the forehead which required stitches.

  • Man remains unconcious after street assault: Hopps Street, Hartlepool

    Police are renewing their appeal for information after an assault on a man at around 4am on Sunday 14th December.

    The 29-year-old man was assaulted on Hopps Street in Hartlepool and has since been detained in James Cook University Hospital. His condition has not improved.

  • Teenager wounded on Christmas day: Mill Green, Warboys

    A teenager was wounded in the neck during a Christmas day fight in Warboys.

    Up to eight people are believed to be involved in the incident which took place at about 1.30am in Mill Green outside the Royal Oak pub.

    The injured person - a 17-year-old boy - was taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital but his injuries are not life threatening.

    Police are appealing for witnesses to the fight to come forward.

  • Foreign nationals in wounding incident: Wendover Mews, Bourne

    Police attended a house on in Wendover Mews, Bourne at about 0135hrs on Thursday 1st December 2009.

    A 30-year-old man was taken to Peterborough and District hospital (PDH) with a wound to his neck along with a 27-year-old man with a serious cut to his hand.

    Both men are still being treated but their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening. A 56-year-old man was treated at the scene for a minor head injury.

    All the men are foreign nationals who are believed to reside locally.

  • Unprovoked attack leaves man seriously injured: Church Road, Northenden

    A man needed staples for a head injury after a savage attack in Northenden.

    The 43-year-old man was walking home at about 12.45am on Sunday 21 December 2008, and was on the phone.

    When he was turning onto Church Road from Palatine Road, and crossing towards Kingsley Road, he noticed a man who was pointing in his direction and shouting at him.

    Three other men who were nearby approached the victim, who tried to push one of them back in self-defence.

  • Man stabbed in serious assault: Georges Quay, Dublin

    Gardai at Pearse Street are investigating a serious assault which occured at Georges Quay/Tara St junction, near the entrance to Tara Street Dart Station, at about 11.50am this morning on the 30th December, 2008.

    The injured man aged 25 years received a number of stab wounds to the upper body and is currently in St James Hospital. His injuries are not life threatening.

  • Serious eye injury as dog walker stands up to thugs: Merlin Walk, Eaglestone

    Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Eaglestone in the early hours of yesterday morning (22/12).

    The man was walking his dog along the redway near the wooden bridge, Merlin Walk, at about 2am when he was approached by three men.

    Two of the men stepped either side of him and the third punched him in the face.

  • Man shot in chest: South Hill Street, Glodwick

    A man is being treated in hospital after being shot in an Oldham street.

    Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which took place at 11pm on Monday 29 December 2008, on South Hill Street, Glodwick.

    A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest.

    His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

    A car was seen driving away from the scene of the shooting.
