- Fairfield shooting, statement by Det Supt Jon Groves: West Mercia Police
Police can confirm today a man has died after being shot during an armed robbery at a sub post office near Bromsgrove in North Worcestershire this morning (Friday 9th January).
It happened at about 8.20am at Fairfield Stores, on the B4091 Stourbridge Road, Fairfield.
Two men have been shot.
One man was shot in the chest and tragically died at about 9am. The other was shot in the leg. I am not able to give you an update on his condition at this time.
- Two men shot in local store armed robbery: Stourbridge Road, Fairfield

- Renewed appeal, gun-point robbery at post office: Capel St Mary
Detectives are renewing their appeal for information following an armed robbery at Capel St Mary Post Office three weeks ago on Friday 19th December 2008.
At around 4.55pm a man entered the Post Office on The Street, put on a mask and threatened workers with a handgun, demanding money.
A quantity of cash was handed over and he ran out of the store.
- Knife-point robbery of off-licence: Meredith Road, Ipswich
Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at an off-licence shop in Meredith Road, Ipswich, around 8.30pm last night, Thursday 8 January.
A man entered The Local store and approached a member of staff behind the counter.
The male shop worker immediately saw the man had a knife and the offender then demanded he hand over cash.
- Female witness sought in robbery investigation: Redbourn/Harpenden
A woman with blonde or light-coloured hair wearing a long coat may have information about two men believed to be using a stolen cash card outside the Co-op in Lower Luton Road in Harpenden.
The incident pictured happened between 12.12am and 12.15am during the early hours of Friday, December 12.
It follows the robbery of a woman in her 70s in Redbourn on December 11 and police are hoping she will come forward to help the investigation.
- Knife-point robbery on train: South East London
British Transport Police have released CCTV as part of an ongoing investigation into a knifepoint robbery on a train in south-east London.
BTP Robbery Squad PC Dan Rolfe said the incident happened on a train travelling from Crofton Park Railway Station to Catford Railway Station on November 24.
"It would appear the 39-year-old male victim was approached by two black men at around 10.30pm.
- Knife-point street robbery: off Woodville Terrace, Selby
Police in Selby are investigating a knife-point robbery in which a man had his wallet stolen by two suspects.
The incident occurred between 12noon and 1.30pm on Wednesday 7 January 2009 as the 30-year-old victim was cutting through an alley way off Woodville Terrace that leads onto the path running behind the houses on Abbot's Road.
One of the suspects stood in front of the victim and demanded that he handed over his wallet.
When the victim turned around to look at the second suspect a lock knife was pointed at him as a threat.
- Public House robbery: High Road, Wormley
POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a robbery in Wormley on Sunday afternoon (January 4).
The incident took place at around 12.10pm at the Old Star Public House in the High Road. It is believed two men broke into the pub and threatened a woman who was in the property at the time. They stole a large quantity of money and made off.
One man has been described as black, with a medium build and wearing a dark hooded top and dark clothing.

- Woman knocked to the ground as handbag is snatched: Crowther Street, Kidderminster
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman’s handbag was stolen in a robbery.
It happened at about 5.25pm yesterday, Wednesday 7th January, when the victim, a 31-year-old woman, was walking along Crowther Street, Kidderminster.
A man came up behind her and grabbed her bag, pulling her to the floor. He hit her on the head with the bag and ran off with it.
The bag was later found dumped nearby, minus a purse and keys. The purse contained £10 and loose change.
- Armed robbers target store twice: One Stop, Lowton
Police in Lowton are appealing for witnesses after a store was robbed twice within a number of weeks.
At about 8.10pm on Monday 15 December 2008, two offenders went into the One Stop Convenience Store on Church Lane in Lowton and threatened staff with a knife and gun.
The pair ran off along Fulwood Road with some alcohol and cigarettes.

- Armed robbers threaten female assistants with gun: Londis, Stockport
At about 8pm on Monday 5 January 2009, police were called to Londis on Haddon Road in Heald Green following reports of a robbery.
Four men had walked into the store and one man, who was holding a handgun, threatened the women behind the till.
He forced the women to hand over thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes.
One of the women, a 49-year-old, had her hair pulled by the men, as they demanded cash. They did not steal any money however and the four offenders then ran out of the store.
- Boxing Day taxi robbery: Kemp Road, New Parks
The 36-year-old victim, who works as a taxi driver, picked up three women on the corner of Billington Close.
The women didn't have any money to pay for the fare, so the taxi driver agreed to take a mobile phone as proof that the fare would be paid at the other end of the journey, in Kemp Road.
When they arrived at Kemp Road, New Parks, the victim got out of the car to speak to the suspects who were refusing to pay.
He was grabbed and held by one of the suspects while one of the others searched his pockets.
- Cyclist snatches handbag: Harrison Road, Leicester
Handbag stolen from woman on ccPolice are appealing for witnesses after a theft in Harrison Road.
The incident happened at around 5.15pm on Monday, December 5 when the 53-year-old victim was walking towards Moira Street.
She was approached from behind and had her handbag, which was over her right shoulder, taken.
The suspect is described as:
- Woman sought after 'lift home' robbery: Ashby Road, Loughborough
Police are trying to trace a woman following a robbery on Ashby Road in Loughborough.
The incident happened at about 3.30am on Sunday December 21, 2008 after a man driving a burgundy Ford Fiesta had parked up in High Street, outside McDonalds with another male passenger.
Two men and a woman approached the car and asked for a lift home.
The woman, who is described as:
- Taxi driver stabbed: Clayton
At 10.10pm on Monday 5 January 2009, police were called to Barrington Street, Clayton following reports a man had been stabbed.
Officers attended and discovered a 61-year-old man had been stabbed in his side.
One of the offenders ran up Barrington Street in the direction of Vale Street and another offender ran in the direction of Whiteley Street.
Both are described as white men.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are described as serious but not life threatening.
