  • Man, 50s, victim of serious assault: Hartshill, Stoke-on-Trent

    Detectives in Stoke-on-Trent are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was seriously assaulted.

    The incident happened in Hartshill Road, Hartshill, at around 2.20pm on Thursday 8 January.

    Officers attended the scene following reports that a man, believed to be in his 50s, had been assaulted.

    The man was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire with severe head and facial injuries. His condition is described as stable.

  • Assault in the Co-op car park: High Street, Wainfleet

    Police are appealing for witnesses regarding an assault involving a large group of people, which happened in the Co-operative Store car park on Wainfleet's High Street on Sunday, 4 January 2009.

    The assault was carried out on two local men - aged 20 and 24 years old - as they came out of the store between 4.30pm and 4.45pm.

    It is believed to have involved seven people, who carried out an unprovoked attack on the two victims in the car park, as shoppers passed by.

  • Man Attacked By Dog: Great Western Way, Hereford

    A young man walking along the Great Western Way in Hereford required hospital treatment after he was attacked by a dog roaming loose.

    The incident happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday 27th December 2008 as the 21-year old was walking along the "green bridge" section of the Great Western Way footpath. He was approached by a dark-coloured Staffordshire-sized dog, which jumped up at him and bit him under his left eye.

  • Father and son assaulted in armed robbery: Middleton

    A father and son have been assaulted during an armed robbery at their home in Middleton.

    Four or possibly five men forced their way through the front door of the house on Mossway at around 11.30pm on Tuesday 6 January 2008, armed with a baseball bat.

    They were confronted by a 52- year-old man and his son, aged 22, who tried to push the offenders out of the house.

    The father was hit over the back of the head with the bat and his son was kicked a number of times.

  • 11-year-old boy victim of assault: Yarmouth Road, Lowestoft

    An 11-year-old boy sustained discomfort to his stomach and leg following an incident in Yarmouth Road around 5.20pm yesterday, Wednesday 7 January.

    The boy was walking from the Denes High School area towards Sussex Road when he was attacked by two boys described as white, aged in their early to mid teens, one with spiky hair and wearing jeans, the other with curly hair and wearing a brown top.

    One of the boys was smoking.

    The 11-year-old was assaulted before both the offenders ran off.

  • Man, 23, assaulted outside taxi office: Ipswich

    Old Foundry Road, Ipswich at about 3.25am Sunday 04.01.09. A 23-year-old male was waiting outside a taxi office when another male hit him in the face with a drinks can causing a cut to his lip.

    The offending male is described as white, aged 25 to 30 years old and was wearing a yellow/grey stripped top.

  • Group of men assault 19-year-old outside club: Blackpool
    Group of men assault 19-year-old outside club: Blackpool

    Police in Blackpool have released a photograph of a group of males they wish to speak to following an assault outside the Syndicate Nightclub in the early hours of Sunday 9 November 2008.

    The assault took place at approximately 3.15am on Church Street when a 19-year-old male was assaulted by a group of males. The males approached the aggrieved from behind and hit him to the back of his head and then proceeded to punch him to the face.

    The group of males then left the scene in a limousine.

  • BMX gang assault New Year party goer: Lutterworth Road

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a 41-year-old man was assaulted as he was walking home after celebrating the New Year.

    The incident happened between 2.40am and 2.50am on New Years Day (Thursday January 1, 2009) as the victim was walking along Lutterworth Road towards Soar Valley Way.

    As he walked between the junctions of Plantation Avenue and Monsell Drive, he became a group of 5 of 6 youths riding towards him on bikes.

  • Altercation leads to assault: Paton Street, Leicester

    The incident happened at around 8.15am on January 1, 2009 and involved an altercation between two men outside an address on Paton Street.

    During the incident, an assault took place and one of the men, aged 24, was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary hospital after receiving a head injury and has since transferred to the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham where his condition is currently described as stable.

    A 59-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

  • A man was attacked and burgled: Wigan

    On Monday 5 January 2009, the victim was at home asleep when at about 3am he was disturbed by men in his house on Douglas Bank Drive, Wigan.

    The two men, who had already ransacked other rooms, punched him in the face a number of times, demanding cash, keys to his van and bank cards.

    He was tied up with a telephone cable and the men continued to search the rest of the house.

    They stole a number of items including a credit card, for which they demanded the pin number.

  • Young woman assaulted: Thornbush Road, Inverness

    Inverness police are investigating an incident which occurred about 0300 hours on 7 january 2009 when a 20 year old female was assaulted on Thornbush Road near to the area of the community centre.

    The female sustained slight injury which did not require hospital treatment.

  • Taxi driver stabbed: Clayton

    At 10.10pm on Monday 5 January 2009, police were called to Barrington Street, Clayton following reports a man had been stabbed.

    Officers attended and discovered a 61-year-old man had been stabbed in his side.

    One of the offenders ran up Barrington Street in the direction of Vale Street and another offender ran in the direction of Whiteley Street.

    Both are described as white men.

    The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are described as serious but not life threatening.

  • Boy assaulted with bottle: The Oakalls, Bromsgrove

    Police are appealing for witnesses after an 11-year-old boy was assaulted by a youth in Bromsgrove.

    It happened near the pond on The Oakalls at about 3.10pm on Saturday 3rd January.

    The victim has told police he passed five youths carrying bottles, one of whom smashed a glass bottle over his head, causing him to fall to the floor. The youths then ran off.

    Serious assault: Edmonton Green Shopping Centre

    Officers from Enfield have issued an e-fit of a man they want to speak to in connection with a serious assault that took place at Edmonton Green Shopping Centre on Saturday 20 December 2008.

    At approximately 5.20am on Saturday 20 December 2008 the victim, a 46-year-old woman, was walking through the car park at the north end of Edmonton Green Shopping Centre when an unknown male suspect approached her from behind.

  • Man assaulted: Dominion Road, Glenfield.

    The incident happened at around 12.20pm on Friday December 26, 2008 as the 49-year-old victim was walking along Dominion Road.

    As he was walking he was approached by two men in a white van who assaulted him.

    The victim was treated at the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment to minor injuries.
