  • Burglary of licensed firearms dealership: Cregg, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary

    Gardaí at Carrick on Suir are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in the early hours of this morning at a licensed firearms dealership in Cregg, Carrick on Suir, Co. Tipperary.

    At approximately 1.30am  4 men were waiting outside the premises when the owners (a couple) returned home from a night out. 

    At least one of these men was armed with a firearm.

    The owners were taken into the house which had 2 other occupants.

  • Computer equipment and jewellery taken in burglary: Cowbit

    Police are appealing for information after computer equipment and jewellery were stolen from a house in Cowbit.

    This incident took place sometime between 1.15am and 1pm on Wednesday January 7 in Vicarage Close, Cowbit.

    Offenders got into the property through unlocked patio doors and stole a laptop, three gold rings and bankcards.

  • Bogus workman burgles 83-year-old man: Glen Crescent, Stamford

    Police are appealing for information after a man in his 80s was burgled while he was at home.

    This incident took place sometime between 12pm and 1pm on Wednesday January 7 in Glen Crescent, Stamford.

    An offender entered a house in the road.

    The occupant, an 83-year-old man, who was sitting in the living room, heard the door open, but assumed it was wife returning from doing some shopping.

    The offender searched upstairs rooms and stole a watch worth about £300.

  • Burglary: Saint Thomas Drive, Boston

    Police are appealing for any information regarding a burglary carried out at an address in Saint Thomas Drive in Boston between 1.30pm on Wednesday 7 January 2009 and 1.00am the following morning.

    Entry was gained by completely removing the glass door to the conservatory by jemmying the three hinges and a search carried out.

  • Aggravated burglary by up to five offenders: Tattershall Road, Boston

    Police are appealing for information regarding an aggravated burglary, carried out at a property in Tattershall Road, Boston last night, Wednesday 7 January 2009 around 6.15pm. 

    The incident involved four or five offenders, all thought to be men wearing black clothing, ski masks or balaclavas and carrying what have been described as pick-axe handles, crow bars and spades.

  • Burglary: Spring Road, Ipswich

    Spring Road, Ipswich between Saturday 22.11.08 and Sunday 28.12.08 a first floor flat was broken in to and items valued at nearly £3000 stolen from within.

  • 97-year-old lady victim of distraction burglary (renewed appeal): Beccles

    Police are renewing appeals for information following a distraction burglary at the home of a 97-year-old lady in Ballygate yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 6 January. Just after 3pm a man knocked at her door and asked for a glass of water. The woman went to get a glass for him but when she returned the man had gone.

    A few moments later the lady discovered her purse, containing cash, had been stolen.

    The offender is described as being around 6ft tall, of large build and is thought to have been wearing a large haversack on his shoulders.

  • Attempted commercial burglary: Ledbury

    Police are investigating an attempted burglary at Countrywide Stores, Dymock Road, Ledbury between 5.30pm on Sunday 4th and 7am on Monday 5th January 2009. Police believe thieves have forced the boundary fencing and climbed onto the roof, making holes therein in order to enter the property. It is not thought any entry was actually made.

    Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity on the night in question.

  • Woman shouts at burglar: Stratford St Mary

    Mors End, Stratford St Mary at around 2.50am 08/01/09. A woman has disturbed a man in her house, she shouted at him and he ran from the house through the front door and left the scene in an unknown vehicle.

    Nothing appears to have been stolen.

  • Commercial burglary: Lower Road Trading Estate, Ledbury

    Police are investigating a burglary at LDA Meats on the Lower Road Trading Estate, Ledbury which occurred between 8pm on Friday 19th and 5.50am on Saturday 20th December 2008. Burglars appear to have incapacitated the external alarm, smashed a small window to the premises and entered the office and stole a small safe containing keys and cash.

  • Cash and ski clothing taken in Burglary: Gislingham

    Finningham Road, Gislingham between 7.20am and 1.30pm 07/01/09. Offenders have broken into a house by smashing glass in a door and stolen cash and ski clothing.

  • Cash and card stolen: Stradbroke Road, Syleham

    Stradbroke Road, Syleham between 3pm 07/01/09 and 7.45am 08/01/09

    Offenders have broken into a house by forcing a window and stolen a bank card and cash.

  • Frozen suckling pigs stolen: Thrandeston Road, Brome
    Frozen suckling pigs stolen: Thrandeston Road, Brome

    Thrandeston Road, Brome between 11pm 07/01/09 and 6am 08/01/09

    Offenders have broken into an industrial unit by damaging a vent and stolen cuts of frozen meat and a pallet of frozen suckling pigs.

  • Burglers disturbed: The Fairstead, Botesdale

    The Fairstead, Botesdale at around 3.15am 08/01/09

    An offender has attempted to break into a house but did not gain entry - they were then disturbed in the garage by a neighbour and ran off down the street.

    A vehicle was then heard to leave the health centre car park.

    The offender is described as 5 foot 11 inches tall, of slim build and was wearing dark clothes and a hooded top.

  • Break-in at farm, nothing taken: Ingham

    Ingham between 4pm 06/01/09 and 7.35am 07/01/09. Offenders have broken into offices and outbuildings on a farm but nothing was stolen.

    A suspicious white Ford Transit van was seen in the area early on the morning of Wednesday 7th January.
