Teenager robbed of bike: St Margarets Pastures, Leicester

The incident happened at around 2.50pm on Saturday November 15, 2008 as the 17-year-old victim was sitting on the bench with a girl near to St Margarets Pastures canal towpath and a youth sat next to them, who had come from the direction of Abbey Park Road.

The victim and the girl got up and started to travel towards the bridge on Friday Street.

After a few minutes, the youth approached the victim and demanded he give him his bike. He attempted to hit the victim causing him to fall from the bike.

The suspect rode off on the stolen bike towards the car park. The victim was not injured during the incident.

The bike is very distinctive and was custom built by the victim. It is described as a Debomb trick bike with orange frame and rims. It also had black stripes give it a tiger effect.

The suspect is described as:

  • white
  • between 18 and 19-years-old
  • of medium build
  • with short blond shaven hair
  • he had a word tattooed on the left side of his neck
  • his left eyebrow pierced
  • wearing a dark tracksuit top and jeans

PC Paul Smith, who is investigating the incident, said:

"The victim is very upset that the bike has been stolen and is obviously very keen for its return.

"We are hoping that the distinctiveness of the bike will help people to recall details of its current whereabouts.

"If you witnessed this incident or know the identity of the person responsible, then we would urge you to contact us urgently.

"If you have seen a bike like this being offered for sale or know of someone who may have acquired a similar bike in suspicious circumstances then we would urge you to contact us."
