Police in Harrogate are seeking witnesses following the theft of a "vivid" blue Audi RS4 Estate car at approximately 9pm on Sunday 23 November Wescoe Hill near Weeton.
The theft occurred when two Asian males were on a test drive with the driver.
The front seat passenger pulled on the hand brake which caused the car to swerve before stopping.
One of the men threatened the driver saying that he had a knife and forced him from the vehicle.
The first man is described as being Asian, 6ft tall with a very thin build, short dark hair, late 20s and wearing light coloured zip up cardigan jacket dark trousers.
The second man is described as Asian, 6ft tall of a heavier build in his late 20s wearing a black knitted hat and black zip up bomber jacket.
The men claimed to be from Liverpool but both men are described as having West Yorkshire accents.
When the vehicle was stolen it was taken in the direction of Poole-in-Wharfedale.
