- Major art theft: San Fernando Valley
A reward of 200,000 USD (107,712 GBP) has been offered for information that leading to the return of 12 paintings (nine pictured) by Marc Chagall, Diego Rivera, Kees van Dongen and other masters which were stolen from a home in California's San Fernando Valley.
Investigators believe a thief entered the home near Ventura Boulevard and the 405 Freeway on the morning of Aug. 23 through an unlocked side door while the maid was out. Said Los Angeles Police Detective Donald Hrycyk, one of two investigators with the art theft.
- Betty Boop statuettes stolen: Workington
The management of Akitts Home Furnishings from which 18 Betty Boop statuettes were stolen is offering a £200 reward for any information leading to the thief or theives being aprehended.
The statuettes of the classic 1930s cartoon character start in price from £35 and the total value of the haul is in the region of £855. They were taken from the Workington store, on Pow Street, some time between August 14 and 25.
The stolen items are of various sizes with the largest being approximately 14 inches tall.
- Reward offered in 3/4 million dollar coin theft: Beverly Hills
The Professional Numismatists Guild (PNG) and PNG member-dealer, Kevin Lipton, are jointly offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of rare coins and paper money stolen from Lipton's Beverly Hills, California offices.
The unknown thief or thieves took more than a quarter-million dollars worth of numismatic items during a break-in on Sunday, October 19, 2008.
- Thieves steal performance bikes worth £10,000: Colton, (near) Lichfield
Cycling enthusiasts are being urged to help police track down expensive performance bikes stolen from a house near Lichfield.
Officers think bike shop owners or keen riders might be approached and asked to buy the custom built machines worth around £10,000.
Five cycles were stolen by thieves who broke into the garage of a house at Colton, near Lichfield.
The theft was discovered on Thursday morning (20 November 2008), when the owner checked his premises.
- Theft of motor vehicle: Putney Close, Brandon
Putney Close, Brandon between 2pm 23/11/08 and 8.50am 24/11/08 A silver Citroen Saxo, registration EY51EJU has been stolen from the rear of business premises.

- Custom made horse box stolen: Ackworth, Pontefract
Police in Wakefield are appealing for information after a specially made horse box was stolen from an address in Ackworth, Pontefract.
Between 11.30am and 4.30pm on Tuesday 25 November a horsebox was stolen after being left secure at a property.
The horsebox was custom made and is described as royal blue in colour with a green band around the sides with gold edging. It can hold up to 3 horses and can sleep 4 people.
It is a distinctive box and it is thought a vehicle will have been used to remove it from the address.
- Reward offered as two cars stolen: North Greetwell, Lincs
The victims of a burglary have today offered a £1000 reward for information leading to the conviction of the offenders. Two cars were stolen following the burglary in North Greetwell. It is thought that the cars may have been taken from around 0330 hrs on the 28th November.
The first car, a yellow Subaru was later found in collision with a lamp post on Queen Mary Road in Lincoln at 0450 hrs. A man was seen running from the car towards Talawney Crescent.
- Vespa scooter stolen: Ipswich
Cavendish Street, Ipswich between 4pm Tuesday 25.11.08 and 12pm Wednesday 26.11.08 a lime green Vespa PGO 125CC scooter index P177UUA parked in the street was stolen.

- Motorbike stolen from lay-by: between Ramshorn and Coalsnaughton
Police are appealing for public help in helping trace a stolen motorbike.
The black BSA bike was stolen from a lay-by at approx midday on Wednesday November 26 on the B9140 between Ramshorn and Coalsnaughton.
The vehicle was parked in the lay-by having developed a flat tyre and the 52-year-old owner had returned to his home address nearby to arrange for its recovery.
When he returned to the lay-by the motorbike had been stolen.
- Rare bikes stolen in garage burglary: Wigmore
Police in North Herefordshire are appealing for information following the burglary of a garage in the village of Wigmore in which two rare bikes were stolen.
The offence occurred between 4pm on Wednesday 26th and noon on Sunday 30th November 2008. During this period, thieves have forced entry to a locked garage beside a residence in Ford Street, Wigmore.
The bikes stolen were:
an Orbea Satellite mountain bike, colour khaki green and black (of which this is the only one to have been sold in the UK)
- Suzuki Vitara stolen: Lacey Gardens, Louth
Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft of a green Suzuki Vitara 4x4, stolen from a parking bay outside an address in Lacey Gardens, Louth between 6.00pm on Tuesday 25 November 2008 and 9.00am the following morning.
The vehicle, registration R465 NHJ, was secured when it was stolen. Police are anxious to trace sightings of the stolen vehicle, or anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity or individuals in the area overnight.
- Keys stolen from house, car stolen: Manor Lane, Welton
Car keys were stolen from a house in Welton and a silver Vauxhall Zafira registration KLO4 NPY was taken between 0200 and 0400 hrs (Thurs, 27.11.2008).
Information in relation to this incident or sightings of the vehicle should be reported to the police on 01522 882222.
- Theft of Landrover and tools: Woodside Road, Endmoor.
Between 10.45pm on 21 November 2008 and 6.10am 22 November 2008 a blue Landrover 90, PN52 BWG containing a Huskervarner chainsaw and Black and Decker angle grinder, plus other assorted tools, was stolen from outside a dwelling on Woodside Road, Endmoor.

- Jewellery recovered, rightful owners sought: Northumberland
A collection of suspected stolen jewellery has been recovered from a house in Throckley.
It follows the arrest of two men yesterday on suspicion of burglary from addresses in Newcastle by officers from Northumberland Area Command.
The men, aged 36 and 39, remain in custody where they are being questioned.
The arrests form part of an ongoing operation in Northumberland to drive down crime and the men have been arrested in connection with burglaries in the county, including five recent burglaries in the Darras Hall area.
- Paraglider stolen in burglary: Oldham
Burglars turned over a house in Oldham, stealing several household items, including a paraglider.
The burglary took place some place between 1pm and 7pm on Wednesday 12 November 2008.
The offenders managed to get into the house by sneaking through to the back garden, and smashing open the back door.
The living room, kitchen and bedrooms were then ransacked.
